Grace and Peace

I was blessed to lead EPIC's worship band as we opened for David Crowder back in 2002 at The Hill.  Dave signed an autograph for us, which included the salutation: "Grace and Peace."  That caught my attention.  Speaking "Grace and Peace" over someone is a huge blessing.  It's a powerful blessing, and one I am daily learning to walk in!

Check out this message from Rob Bell.  Rob's at Mars Hill Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  The Grace and Peace we experience in our relationship with Jesus is life changing.  If we could learn to pass this along to the people we do life with...whoa!!  The results could be world-changing!  I thought the way Rob articulated this truth was remarkable.

Study: Evangelicals Least Concerned about Global Warming

What up?!!

As a surfer, environment is pretty important to me.  If you're wondering why, just go surfing sometime during a red tide (when fertilizer run-off causes an algae bloom in the ocean that burns your eyes, makes you hack, and melts your face!)

However, I'm not too big on the global warming theory.  I understand the evidence, but my perception is that the data is skewed.  I don't believe that we have enough data over enough time to find conclusive statistical evidence that we are permanently altering the global climate.  I also belive that natural forces that we have not yet predicted will balance out any adverse effects our existence produces.  We are but a vapor.

Plus, because I believe in the Bible, I believe in Flood Theory.  If the flood of Genesis DID happen, it was a cataclysm that affected all the environmental data we are using to support global warming theory.  Science writes the flood off as ancient hearsay.  The Grand Canyon begs to differ.

Anyway...The reason I'm posting this article is found in the next to last paragraph.  As Christians, we should be leading the way in conservation, recylcing, and environmental stewardship.  It's pleasing unto the Lord to be good stewards of resources.  Especially if our neglect leads to face-melting!

Overland Missions Trucks Across Africa...You Can Help!!

what's up, world?!!!

no posts recently for various reasons.  most importantly, all the great stuff that God's been up to in our lives!

2. can you say, summertime (no school for the kids!)
3. Surf Camps: God is going off!!  He's filling up the camps, kids are getting saved, and our team is blowing up!  check the front-page pic from the times-union, which ran on tuesday, june 26...
4. Overnight Surf Camps: we had our first-ever overnight camps at the comfort inn on jax beach in early june.  lots of work and lots of fun!  check the pics from all our camps at the epic website!
5. Overflow Groups at Celebration Church: carrie and i are now the "overflow group" coordinators for the latenite young adults ministry.  we've been hosting a group for two semesters, and now we're helping coordinate groups.  this fall is a big-time launch for connecting groups at Celebration, so we are set to get busy...getting switched-on folks connected with God and with one another!
